Lucille P. Roberts,
former Secretary/Treasurer of Knowlton & Hewins, Inc., Augusta, ME, died July 20. She is survived by a son, Terry; a granddaughter, Lynn Roberts Reed, President of the firm; and a grandson, Leon Roberts, Vice President.
Robert S. Schoedinger,
Chairman Emeritus of Schoedinger & Company, Columbus, OH, died July 18. He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne, and brothers George R. Schoedinger Jr. and John F. Schoedinger. He is survived by brother William O. Schoedinger; two daughters, Suzanne Ellis and Sara Buchsieb; and grandsons, Robert Schoedinger, Geoffrey Schoedinger, Eric Ellis and Daniel Buchsieb.
Marion D. Williams,
Owner of Willliams Funeral Directors, Garland, TX, died July 14. He is survived by his wife, Juanita, and two sons, D. Cecil and J. Kyle Williams, Co-Owners of the firm.
Capt. William K. Mauldin,
husband of Margot Juette Mauldin, now Mrs. Alfred Burgess Robinson of Robinson Funeral Home, Inc., Easley, SC, died February 21, 1952 in North Korea. Captain Mauldin was in the United States Air Force, having served in Germany during World War II and in the Korean Conflict. In 1993, through cooperative efforts between North Korea and The United Nations, 33 coffins containing unidentified remains reportedly belonging to U.S. servicemen listed as unaccounted for were turned over. Captain Mauldin's remains were positively identified on February 11, 2008, after many years of scientific analysis. He also is survived by one daughter, Corinne Margot Mauldin, and two grandchildren. His son, William K. Mauldin II, died in 1985.

former owner of Howe Mortuary, Inc., Longmont, CO, died June 22. He wa preceded in death recently by his brother and co-owner, George Howe. Mr. Howe is survived by his wife, Amy, and a nephew, Geoffrey W., President of the firm.
Carlin G. Maberry,
President of Maberry Funeral Home, Inc., Floyd, VA, died June 21. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, and two daughters, Mitzi Roberson, Secretary-Treasurer of the firm, and Ann Phillips.
E. Ruth Bibber,
former Secretary-Treasurer of Bibber Memorial Chapel, Kennebunk, ME, died June 7. She is the step-mother of Richard V. Bibber, President of the firm. She also is survived by a daughter, Martha B. Schmidt.
Ronald F. Bradshaw,
President of Bradshaw-Carter Memorial & Funeral Services, Houston, TX, died June 2. He is survived by his life partner, Michael (Tripp) Carter, owner of the firm.
George W. Howe,
former owner/president of Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont, CO, died May 2. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and four sons, Geoffrey, President of the firm, Bradley, Blake and Mark Howe.
Bobbie Jo Shackelford,
Co-Owner with her husband, Robert P. Shackelford, Jr., of The Shackelford Corporation, Savannah, TN, died May 1. She also is survived by a son, Robert P. Shackelford, III; and a daughter, Lisa Shackelford, Thomas, also co-owners of the firm.
Janet Gerke,
wife of Clarence Gerke, Past President of Selected Independent Funeral Homes (2003-2004), and co-owner with her husband of Memorial Oaks Chapel, Inc., Brenham, Texas, died suddenly April 28. She also is survived by a son, Chad, and a daughter, Melissa Lyons.
Henrietta G. Langeland,
widow of the former owner, Marvin H. Langeland of Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Kalamazoo, MI, died April 19. Mrs. Langeland also is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Van Gunst; grandson, Tod Langeland, Secretary-Treasurer of the firm; and nephew Norman Langeland, President.
John L. Penny,
husband of Lucille Penny, former administrative assistant at Selected's Headquarters office, died April 11 after a long illness. Mr. Penny also is survived by three children, Cathy, Steve and John; and eight grandchildren.

Samuel C. Metcalf,
father of Samuel H. Metcalf, President of Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Service, Grand Rapids, MI, died March 12. Mr. Metcalf served on the Board of Directors of National Selected Morticians from 1965-68. He also is survived by his wife, Marion; another son, William; and a daughter, Marilyn Leigh.
